A Hurricane Ian Update:
Please bear with us! On September 28, 2022, Hurricane Ian, a massive, Category 4 storm slammed into Sanibel with 155mph winds and a 13ft storm surge that swept across Breakers West. Incredibly, our building remained standing, but the ground floor units were destroyed. B-2 and most of the 2nd floor units escaped damage, save for losing our lanai screens and some baluster posts.
We, and Sanibel, are both rapidly rebuilding. If all goes well, starting September 1, 2023, we will be welcoming guests to a B-2 and BW that are even more beautiful than before. And due to the destruction next door, we now have gorgeous sightlines to the Gulf.
Meanwhile, the shorebirds have returned to Sanibel in record numbers. Restaurants, shops and sites of interest have reopened. New vegetation is sprouting everywhere. Roads and bike-hike paths are being restored.
We look forward to welcoming you (back) to paradise, starting September 1, 2023.
